About Megan and Jim

Like most people, Megan and Jim Luetkemeyer had always lived and worked with a vague expectation that they'd retire "someday."

​

Then one day, as they discussed their careers and next steps, Jim asked as a joke - "why don't we just quit and travel the world for a year?" But instead of dismissing it, Megan and Jim started a conversation that would last two months, asking the questions of what doing something like this would mean for their careers, thier finances, their relationships with family and friends, and their marriage.    

​

The more they discussed it, the more they realized how possible it was, and how much - being newly married and without children - the time was right. 

​

This blog provides them with a way to ensure they remember as much of this life-changing experience as possible, and to provide others an opportunity to experience the journey as well.
